Tires : GS, GS-D3 or HP Ultra Plus...?

Here is the story:

2002 SS with original 275/40-17 Eagle F1 GS
2 years later: 2 tires have to be changes this year, 2 others next year

Options ($Can):
#1. 2 X Eagle F1 GS @ $507 each = $1,014 (and another $1,014 next year = 2,028)
#2. 4 X Eagle F1 GS-D3 @ $366 each = $1,464 ($0 next year)
#3. 4 X Eagle HP Ultra Plus @ $340 (to be confirmed)

Parameters:
- Want to buy Goodyear only (no japs or others...)
- Heard that GS-D3 are better but wear faster (true?)
- Heard that HP Ultra Plus are not very good but...,
1. I had a set in 2000 on my 97 and liked them;
2. I think they would last longer that F1's (right?)
3. I don't drive fast anymore (at 52 Y.O.) and even then, speed code is now Z (was H in 2000)

So what would you do folks, and WHY...

Thumbs up

I like the way the GS-D3s look, and from the reviews on Tirerack.com, they seem to be what I'm looking for as far as performance goes too........planning to get a set next week!
