Question Rear tires are rubbing when I hit road dips, what are my options?

I have a long road trip and I don't think my 275s in the rear can take any more rubbing when I hit a dip or bump in the road. (normal driving they don't, but highway + bumps/dips = rubbing)

What are my options aside from putting my old rims back on? Whats involved with bending the inner rear fender lip?

Thanks,

lbrowne

Very easy fix.... just take the wheels off, look at the fender wall and you will be able to see where the tire was rubbing.... get a hammer and start hammering. My 315/s did the same thing and and took about 5 minutes to fix it with the wheel off.

Have fun

spacer

its the rubber pad monted on the back frame rail the spacer is aluminum piece about 1/2 to 3/4 thick that fits between th e mount and the pad gm uses them when they put 17x9.5 wheels on i have them with same size tires you have no problems when yo compress the rear suspension the rubber pad will hit the axle tube

hrmm, now that I think about it, the spacer is probably a small plate that would go between the jounce bushnig and the frame...hence a spacer...

duuuuuuuuuuuh. i must need more coffee.

edit: how many should i get, just 2? or maybe 4? how thick are they?

the part number suppleid for these jounce spacers is a discontinued part. They thought they had a replacement part number and that one was discontinued as well. (#10282451)

I think this post should be over the suspension forum maybe, I'll make a cross link to it. I need the car fixed before I go on a huge road trip with the next week!

Thanks guys!
