cleaning chrome rims
Anyone have any clue how to get the brake dust spots off of chrome rims? Mine are starting to look pretty pathetic.. they are in need of some TLC  Thanks

Most chrome rims are clear coated, so it doesn't take much to clean them. You could also get some chrome cleaner.

you would either want to take the wheels off to get them really clean in & out or get a SOFT wheel brush to clean them off. one that can really get in to do all little corners.
Yea Get something like MOTHERS Chrome cleaner & Polish

Nah.. I haven't tried anything on them yet ( I really haven't cleaned my wheels in the last 9 months..horrible I know) So before I put anything on them, I was just going to check to make sure I used the best stuff. Thanks for checkin though

Yea Mothers is really good Chrome cleaner. you can even I think get it at like Walmart or Kmart.

Eagle Chrome and Wire cleaner works great. I couldnt get some brake dust off with a towel and soap/water, But once I sprayed it on there it wiped off.

fyi, if the chrome is clear coated (is it?) you CANT use chrome polish!

Okay I have the chrome ss wheels can I or can I Not use the mothers chrome polish. Don't want to kill my wheels.

Yea, I also have the chrome zr1's for my 2001. Are they real chrome? Can I use nevr dull?

I used Mother's chrome polish for a while and its nice but Windex is far more efficient and works the same. Spray and wipe with a paper towel. Works great.
