Unhappy Well it's not the 5th gen discussion anymore!

Kinda sad. I guess we are not sure what's really going to happen to the Camaro and we were talking about other cars alot more than the 5th gen (or so it seemed) Hopefully the next new forum will be the 5th gen Tech! :crosses fingers:

The same thought occurred to me too. It is kind of sad.

.....I'm waiting for the 5th gen tech forum too!

Unhappy

I made 400 posts, with post #400 coming in the new format of the board. In the almost 2 and a half years that Iv been here, the 5th gen forum has been a source of hope and enthusiasm to not just me, but the entire Camaro community.
95% of my posts came from this section, and it remained the #1 reason why I continued to visit CamaroZ28.com.
The 5th gen discussion forum was the first, best, and untill quite recently, the only one on the interenet.
It remains a great source of information.

I am, therefore, saddened that this forum has now become a generic "upcoming vechicle news" forum.
I understand that with no concrete information pertaining to Chevy's ponycar, there tends to be discussion on a broader range of performance products (from GM and others).

But, this is a CAMARO site (Firebird too, of course!).
The forum should therefore be geared towards Camaro above all other "future cars".
A healthy discussion of all cars is ok...but focus and hope for a future Camaro should be paramount.

When people from General Motors drop by, to guage interest in a new Camaro, they will now find a place where people have resorted to speaking about Skylines and Hemi's.

Im sorry if I have started to ramble, but this is how I STRONGLY feel about this.

Hope for a future Camaro lies with with a discussion of a CAMARO, in a CAMARO forum, on a CAMARO site!

Thank you...

I agree with ted. I thought that the discussions about other cars on here was cool, but the "5th gen forum" gave the board a little direction on occasion.

None of us have given up on a 5th gen yet!

I would've called it "5th Gen and Upcoming Vehicle Discussion," or "5th Gen and Upcoming Vehicle News."

I am completely with you on that. Although our automotive discussions have been wide ranging, our reference point for all these other discussions has been the 5th gen Camaro.

The new forum name, I think, is too generic.

Bring 5th gen back into the forum name....PLEASE!

I miss the old name. It tied in the meaning of this forum more to the idea of a Camaro site.

Well at first it was the "save the f-body" forum then it was changed to "5th gen" and now its "upcoming vehicles".

I think next its going to be changed to:

"Discussion about Rv's, motorcycles, boats, and lawnmowers"

The name might change but the forum stays the same- I'll learn to live with it.

I agree, it needs it back in the actual board name and not just in the description.

As long as there is no 5th gen news, and no one from GM who visits this thread can or will drop off any news on the 5th gen, I think changing the name is a good idea.

It also sends a subtle hint to those same GM/Chevy/Camaro folks who once in a blue moon drop in that this complete news blackout on Camaro is self destructive and idiotic.

I know you can't reveal everything, but come on.....we've not only known the C6 was comming for the past few years, we've also known it was going to be based on the C5 for just as long! And it normally has the tightest security!

This is nothing. When a new Mustang comes out without Camaro, it will just amplify Camaro's absence.

Thumbs down :(

I almost couldn't find the place. I first thought the whole forum was removed.

"Upcoming Vehicle News and Discussion" sounds to sterile.

But then I guess as long as nothing "official" is out there regarding the future F-bodies...

REJOICE FRIENDS! We have our 5th gen forum name back! Special thanks to JasonD for bringing it back. Now if only bringing back the real car was as easy...and to IZ28, well done.
