Post Hopefully a solution to the LOUSY LT4 Intake air distrbution!!!!

Well I should find out this week if my problems are solved with the lousy air distribution with the lt4 intake. The EGT's were never even close to consistant especially with the rear cylinders. Well the motor is back together with the new intake! See what the new intake does for me! I hope I am not speaking too soon. But of course since I took it apart again I had to go with a bigger cam, My secret for now!, which meant bigger springs which meant redoing the seats on the heads, but that was ok since it gave me the opportunity to machine recessed groove in the heads as I switched to wire ring gaskets. Then the Crane Golds no longer fit, so I just had to go with the new street Jesel shaft rocker system, damn is it sweet. Of course my LS1 coil setup will be on the new motor. stay tuned for details as the engine dyno should tell all, not sure how much nitrous I will run at the beginning, probably keep it conservative at somewhere between a 300 - 400 2 stage shot.
Bunch of new pictures with more to come!!!

Those are the sportsman series? What size diameter spring are you running?

Mine would not fit with my 1.55" solid roller springs, so now they are sitting in a box

No doubt Hogan's stuff is good, but wouldn't any distribution issues with the stock intake still be present due to the Hogan's similar design (as opposed to a carb style intake)?

Wow!! Looks great, if you don't mind me asking how much did that intake cost?

Dean, I'm curious as to weather your were seeing erratic airflow to each cylinder or?

I'd think with your newly Sequential FAST, and the ability to opt for Individual Cylinder control, you could make each cylinder burn correctly, even with uneven air distribution.

Thanks for the complements guys let me answer some of the questions. The runners, significantly larger than the LT4, and design of the Hogan internally looks far superior as far as flow is concerned, but the proof will be on our engine dyno when I plot the data from the new intake against the old. The intake ran about $2500.00 With the LT4 intake the EGT's were significantly cooler at the rear cylinders than the others. Could I tune it with the lousy air flow, yes, obviously it is more difficult and also to tune it down because of the lack of air means less power I will keep you guys posted when I have the actual dyno results.
