Overheating in AZ! Need some help!

When I first got my car it ran 140 degrees. Then when my heatercore went out it will overheat unless I am on the highway. So after replaceing the heatercore and going to a 160 thermostat it is still overheating. I can only let the air out of one of the bleeder screws the one on the thermostat housing is striped and I have to replace it. Could air be causing everything? Sorry for the mummbling I am in a hurry.

just take my advice and buy urself a fan-switch, or get some programming. its amazing what a difference it makes. in the winter my car never goes over 160, and right it now, it never gets over 180/190.

I believe you only need to bleed through the uppermost screw. Not the one that connects to the thermostat housing, but the other one. If you have bled that until only coolant comes out then you should be fine there.

What do you mean by overheating? You said you ran at 140? My temp guage starts at 160? I run consistently at 185 - 200 and do not consider that overheating.

If you are talking 220 and above, then I would check the watewr pump and make sure it is not weeping. Other than that a flush/re-fill?
