Post what makes an iroc an iroc?

ok all, according to my lawyer, i am SUPPOSEDLY getting my check from the insurance company soon. i am thinking about buying a few dress up things for my 82..(all of you that saw it at dyno day know the first thing i am getting a door with LESS rust)..but i am thinking that i want to put on some iroc stuff...tail lights, ground fx, and so forth...(those in the know would scoff at an "82" iroc...but with the 350 in it..they would be scoffing behind me!) so other than what i mentioned above...what other tell tale signs are there of an iroc (minus the big IROC on the doors..not to offend anyone...but i have always thought that is sorta tacky...i am more into little discreet labeling)

thanks all...and see you on the 29th!

an iroc was just another badge thrown on from 85-90. it had everything a z28 had. in 88 it actually replaced the Z28. but same car. even the RS had the same lights, and my 88 V6 sport coupe had ground effects. thirdgen.org has anything you will need for info on it. go to the historical board. they could tell you more.

what.. my car isnt stock.. damn.

im sure u already r on thirdgen.org reading up. all in all an iroc was just a better suspension package *and different tires??* what u should do is look into hotchiks, energy suspension, eiback, ect, for suspension stuff. ill look for ur post on thirdgen to go more indepth on it.

Irocs had this over a standard z28:

Badging
Body colored rocker panels
Bigger sways
Stiffer springs
Steerign box brace (aka wonderbar)
hihger effort steering box
you could get the 350 from 87 on
you could get rpo g92 (9 bolt rear end, oil cooler, j65 discs)
rims and tires were iroc only
