Letter limititations in search feature

Letter limititations in search feature
What is the deal with the minumum 3 character search feature??
I'd like to do a search on
"GM replacement clutch"
and
"eagle 077 16" wheels"
but that error keeps coming up.
Can this feature be turned off for numbers and the letters GM?
It's getting way annoying and totally time consuming for me due to the fact I have to shorten the searches and view all the posts on clutches and eagle 077 wheels. There are tons of them and I am just looking for a way to shorten the results up
