Nitrous Newb, need opinions

I have a 2002 Z28, M6 with the following mods: Ultra-Z hood, Granatelli MAF sensor, SLP air lid, SLP cold air induction, SLP loudmouth and a K&N airfilter.
I just purchased a NOS 5177 kit, bottle warmer, bottle opener and a window switch. My LS-1 is stock besides the mods I listed above. After I install the n2o kit will I need to do anything else to the engine? Sorry if this sounds stupid to any of you.

you will need a window switch and a retard box if you want to do it right.

it uses pills that look a lot like the rpm pills. it allows you to pull Xº of timing while the box is active.

they go new for about $135 in summit and used about $50-70.

they are not that hard to install ---just follow the directions.

as an example, I happen to be selling one on ebay.

you can mount it inside the car or in the engine compartment. whichever is easier. Basically, supply power to the retard box, hook it to your Msd ignition and each step will have a trigger wire. When you ground the wire for the first step thru the nitrous solenoid it will retard your timing a set amount. This you set with "chips" of varying degrees of timing that you plug in. Each stage of nitrous can have its own amount of retard or you can add 2 or all 3 steps together.
For example: if you are spraying a 150 shot, and a good rule of thumb says to retard timing by 2 degrees every 50 hp, then you need 6 degrees of retard. If step 1 has a 4 degree chip, then use a 2 degree chip in step 2 and activate them together. Then you still have another step for high gear or a second stage of nitrous

You need a window switch and you HAVE to change your spark plugs to NGK TR6's with a .038 gap. Don't worry about the timming. You most likely won't need to pull any back. If so, you can use a timming tricker with the LS1. It will pull 3 or 4 deg out.
Hit me up with a PM if you want me to send you a pick of the wiring for it.

timing just helps lessen the risk of detination. if you have the money its a good idea.
