Need opinions on sway bars.. 24 rear / 32 front !?

Im getting 24 mm solid rear sawy bar so i can launch properly on slicks .. meanwhile i thought i'd upgrade my front one so daily driving wont be all out of whack ..

i have all the chasis upgrades, SFC, STB, LCAs, PHR etc etc eibach sportline springs .. stock shocks (ugly)
.. would a 24rear/32front combination work pretty good for street driving and some insane cornering like i do sometimes !?

also what size endlinks should i buy with my 1.8" drop (i think thats what sportlines give ya)

Large rear sway bars are for drag (as you mentioned), not for being nimble in the corners.

btw, the front 32 mm will also be solid ..

any more thoghts on that ?

would the 24 / 32 be an unbalaced setup for the street !?

With 32/24 you will not need the throttle to get oversteer. That setup would be so unbalanced as to be dangerous on the street. It would be very dangerous in slippery weather, like rain. Imagine a pickup truck with about 1000 lbs. in the bed.

what do u guys suggest !? bigger front bar !? smaller rear bar !?

damn i dont wanna kill myself, the car does have some major NA power .. its 11 second worthy .. so if the big rear bar would cause that much more oversteer .. well damn my car doesnt need any more help doing it .

Are you trying to toss the car around imagining the curb was a cone or what?

I've driven on Mickey Thompson ET Streets in a fair downpour with ZERO problems.... Are you guys talking about trying to do an Open Track/AutoX in the rain or driving to work??

Jeez, you're scaring the poor guy. If you aren't trying to push the enevelope with the car in the rain I wouldn't expect any problems no matter the setup....

Having driven temporarily without a front sway bar, yeah, the thing oversteered like hell under moderate cornering loads, bordering on passive. However, that was still far more aggressive than the typical drag racer. Likewise, a 32/24 sway bar combo probably is not much more tail-happy than a 0/19

Soooooo, 32/24 is not advisable for a corner-burner, but not really a big deal for a drag racer/cornering pansy

ok i'll just go with this setup for now ..

im not a corner pansy .. well maybe in comparison to u low horsepower corner lovers who cant go straight fast enough

if i didnt like this setup i'll change my solid 32 with a soild 35 ..

how would that affect my handeling ?! would a 35/24 be more balanced than the 32/24 ?!

dont get me wrong i love taking corners .. but i do plan on taking my front sway bar off for drag racing .. so i'll be 0/24 at the track

If you'll be removing it for drag racing anyway, I'd suggest a solid 35mm bar in front. That will balance the handling better on the street.

Either way, all you have to do is not drive like an ass on the street and you'll be fine.

Hey now! I resemble that remark!

In actuality I've been known to drive a few vehicles "That Zig" (Remember that lame Caddy Tag line!), including a 91 NSX, and before my Z28's current state, I had Non-SLP Bilstiens, Eibach Pros, and 35/25 Sways, etc etc (All of this cut 1.6x 60' times at the drag strip I might add!).

Jim, I'm gonna go on a limb to say you're a Regular at CornerCarvers.com? Figuring as the members are pretty deep in CA.....

I think Jon said it best. Be realistic in your driving and it should be fine. but if you're buying bars anyways, the 35mm front would be a better call.

Here's the deal I worry about.

You're heading for an accident and need to turn the wheel sharply.

If you understeer a bit, you may miss the accident or you may not. If you do miss it you should be able to keep control.

If you lose the tail end you will almost surely hit something or other, and you'll be going faster than you would if the car was plowing a bit.
