What's the scoop there sunshine?
Are you missing vital organs required in the state of MA?
Have you gotten it replaced on the recall yet?
Or, are you making some kind of newfangled bong?

It seems to be a trend in my life, but I think it swallowed more water than it can handle. Most likely it was when the supercharger was half installed, I found water in its lines after that.
It never got replaced in the recall. And I also hate letting other people work on my car.
And if I was making a bong, I wouldnt ask for a working pump

Do you have PCM programming? Just get it programmed out and buy the sticker from Sam/Dal Its only like $5-$6. You can leave the pump on, or just get plugs for the exhaust manifold/headers and tear it out

Massachusetts is moving towards emissions stuff where they just plug into the car. I dunno if they'll just be checking for trouble codes, or if it'll actually verify certain emissions equipment is on your car. At this point I'm pretty sure paying for PCM programming would be more expensive than just replacing the stupid pump.
And how is it that Sam/Dal can send you an inspection sticker? Sounds sketchy.

I've been doing some research on this over the last week, and the new OBD test (96+ vehicles) will not only test for DTC's, it will also check to see if any supported tests (called monitors) have been run. Now, I'm not sure if Ed Wright can make a car pass these tests if the systems are gone, but I know LT1-Edit currently can only disable tests. In that case they show up as "incomplete" and will cause you to fail the test. Ken @ LT1-Edit is working on changing the parameters of the misfire test so that it is forgiving enough to allow a cammed car to pass. However, that is little help to those of us who are missing emissions systems (like the EGR valve) but whose cars would most likely pass the sniffer. Basically, it sucks. But, if anyone figures out how to fool these tests, conceivably you could show up with no functioning emissions systems and pass the test, spewing tons of pollutants.

There was a TSB on the air pump:
http://www.impalassforum.com/tech/en...p/air_pump.htm
They deemed that it is not needed. You could have GM reflash the PCM and get the sticker from them when they do it. I'm not 100% sure if it applies to f-bodies, but a quick search should yeild the answer.
Dal/Sam will send it because there 'on the inside' Your general parts counter guy may or may not sell it to you unless you get the PCM reflashed right then and there.

I think it is still required on the f-body. I got a recall on it that was for replacement of the air pump - probably about 1.5 years ago, for my 96.
