Generic ebay kits?

What's the deal with these? Any good? Anyone actually use one? I was wondering who makes them, and how reliable they were. Tempting to get one...

....not a good idea IMO. If you get any 'no name' parts of off E_bay, try the headers, sub-frame connectors but NOT the nitrous. Its way to easy to blow your engine up if something does wrong....

Well, I saw one on the mustang board but not here. Someone there said he had one and it was working great, and he named some company that it was made by. Hadn't heard of the name, and they weren't one of the major ones by any means. I have decided to pass on that for now. Getting some ET Streets this week instead, figure I need those 1st anyways.

Here is the link to this guys no-name nitrous parts.

http://cgi6.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...sort=3&rows=50

I am also seriously contemplating buying his 4150 plate!

Can anyone shed some light on these parts???

His stuff looks legitimate and is priced very nicely!

I would think the solenoids and other nitrous specific parts were built by reputable company but just not sure...

Anyone????

Ok guys, hot off the presses or shall I say Email.

I asked this guy about providing me more info about his nitrous products and here is exactly what he sent me...

"www.coldfusionnitrous.com we sell direct replacement parts for NOS.
everything we sell is made in the U.S.A. not Mexico or any 3rd world country
like NX and NOS. We sell about 600 kits a month and several hundred a month
in the U.K.. Our plates are run on a CNC and we only use the highest quality
6061 billet aluminum material for our plates unlike NOS and NX use CAST
molds. Our plate is exactly the same as a big shot NOS plate except for the
higher quality and lower price. We also sell to Reher-Morrison, Pat Musi,
Tony Christian and many other huge names in drag racing."

So I will probably be using his 400 hp 4150 plate this year.

Cool

Hummm, I dont know about that. I have had about 15emails about my zex kit thats on ebay. Half of those people were from the UK. Nearly ALL of them said that nitrous is very rare over there. It is/was so rare apparently that not one of the 5 of the UK people had ever even seen a purge like mine or even knew what a purge kit was. I had to explain it every time to each of them.

Also, those are some damn famous Racing names he mentions. Ive seen/watched all of them many times on TV. Yet, I have never ever heard of his kits...till now.

Selling several hundred kits a month to the UK would not be a national epidemic... it could still be considered "rare". And I don't think nitrous is rare in the UK... maybe a little less popular, but not rare. As far as purge kits, you could probably pick 5 random people off this forum that wouldn't really know what a purge kit is.

Pat Musi and Tony Christian are big names... but how often do they talk about where they buy their parts from on TV?... never. And just because someone sponsors them doesn't mean they use their parts either. I've had pit passes in Memphis every year since 1993 and usually try to hang around Pat Musi's area. I've never heard a word about where his nitrous plates comes from.... so why would anyone else.

I have been burned on almost every car part I have ever purchased that was "brand x". I say do it right the first time, even if it means spending a little more money.

Just to clear some thing up.

This company is Cold Fusion Nitrous and they are based out of USA. I can't remember exactly where but all his stuff is made in the USA.

I just bought a new billet fogger plate, lines, solenoid brackets and screws from him for $100. Ya can't beat that! He says it is very comparable to the NOS Big shot fogger plate. We will see I guess! It looks exactly like the NOS plates I have except the sparay bars have alot more holes in them !!! Which is better !

I don't know what you were thinking about my last post, but actually I was trying to back you up. There was sarcasm after the big names like Christian and Musi were mentioned. They could have very well purchased their equipment from Cold Fusion... I wouldn't think Cold Fusion would be saying something like that unless there was at least SOME truth.

Anyway... Good luck with your set-up. Let us know how it goes.
