Thumbs up Projectz28 my gears turned out fine.

I hope yours do to. My markings where the same as yours and I got the same backlash as you to .005. Yours should be just fine. I don't get any whine out of mine. Nice and quiet. Hope everything goes well with yours.

BTW I should have gone with 4.10's inseed of the 3.73's. Not much of a difference over the 3.23's. I can stall the converter to 2500 too.

John, I did a little research on where the markings should be... and from what I can tell where we have em is pretty darn good. The backlash at .006 should be just fine also. I really think this rear will be just fine... only thing I'm worried about is breaking the gears with the repeated abuse I'm gonna throw at them . I'm going to start taking the car apart this week. I have alot to do... drop the rear, swap the studs and girdle, drop the exhaust and drill out the cutout bolt thats missing, fix my ds loop, add the 24mm rear sway bar, new bushings, box my stock lca's... and the list goes on.

I cant wait to hear your car. Dont get too worried about the 3.73's yet. I think the 4.10's might be too much with that XE cam you have in it. That cam probably wont turn as much rpm as mine... and when you spray I think you'll be better off... the 4.10's could put you into 4th thru the traps.

BTW, did you end up taking the entire rear out?
