SLP Stage 1?

I was just wondering if anyone has purchased this kit. I am thinking of going w/the stage 1 with a rear sway bar. I mostly drive the car on the street, but I do autocross the car from time to time. Is it worth the $$? All I have right now are Lakewood LCAs and Poly torque arm bushing. Thanks in advance

Technically the SLP suspension you refer to is called the Level 1. Rear ASB, as you noted, isn't included and is available at extra cost.

I have it installed on a '95 TA w/the optional rear bar. With the addition of SFC and STB it is a very nice package for the street. Sorry, I've not driven it on an Auto Cross event. Nevertheless, it does handle quite well and increases the driver's confidence in the car many times.

A second suspension available from SLP is the "Bistein Ultra Performance" suspension. It was an OE optional suspension on the SS and Firehawk in the same manner the 1LE suspension was an option. It originally was $1000. Now SLP has the entire suspension package on sale w/the big 35mm front sway bar. This package also includes the larger Rear ASB as well. A good deal and package for a street car or one driven on the track occasionally. I have it on my '02 F'Hawk and have taken it to the track many times. It is quite capable. Again, w/the addition of SFC and STB, it is very nice.

Costs regarding the two??

The Level 1 is $735 w/o rear ASB whereas the "Bilstein Ultra Performance" w/the 35mm hollow front ASB, reinforced ASB mounts and rear bar is $749.

BTW, the OE 1LE suspension is now also available from SLP (DA Koni and different spring rates). $1800

the level one is what is on my car, although sourced through different places. I had a problem because the prior owner set the car up using bilsteins from a different supplier (doug rippie) and with 17" wheels the rear was too stiff.

with 16" wheels i am happy with the balance, ride and the limit is currently the limit of my dunlop winter tires.

i havent driven a stock suspension, but with the 16" rims i have a lot of fun on tho entrance & exit ramps.

The current SLP aftermarket "Level I" kit is the same thing as the "Level II" suspension that was available on most LT1 Firehawks/SSs. It is a good upgrade over stock, and a great compromise for street/autox/track use, and it's a good price.
