I did a little work around his shop last summer. Roger is the owner and Joe is his son. Joe is definitely the go=through guy but I have to say that they are not a big fan of the LT4 hot cam. You're also going to pay a pretty price to have it installed; but they stand behind their work

Speaking of big fans, I wasn't aware Vinci had any. Seriously, I've not heard a positive word about him since I moved here in 1995. My experience with their 'dyno-tuning' wasn't favorable either.

However, I will concur that Joe must have received his personality from his mother...because his father has a serious attitude problem.

Give Mike Norris a call. He will take care of you and treat you with some courtesy. He won't turn his nose up at you because your not coming in to spend a couple G's. The only think that gets Vinci's attention is how fat your wallet is. If Mike is to much check with Lammotta Performance. Ask for Bill.

My buddy had a forged 396 LT1 stroker with 10psi Vortech built for his Impala at Vincis for mucho, mucho dollars, and was also tuned by them.

He was never able to beat my car and I have an Impala with the stock 350 bottom end and N2O.

I would say that's kind of embarassing, especially considering he had MUCH better 60' times and ran slicks compared to my DRs.

I would call Mike Norris.

I have had extensive work done by Roger & Joe and consider them both to be extremely talented. My 98 Z28 produced 513 rwhp thru 4.10 gears. It had their heads/cam package, Grots, and a 9# Vortech. It was extremely reliable, got 20 mpg and ran like a scalded dog. I sold the car last year and bought a new SS. It will end up back in their shop when I decide what I want to do with it.
They are expensive but so is LPE, MTI or any other quality shop. As the old saying goes, you get what you pay for!

I have no experience with Vinci, but I do with Mike Norris. That is my 383 LT4 on the customer car page of his web site. I would highly recommend him.

As I said before if you have a pocket full of cash to blow then by all means go to Vinci. If you trying to work on a budget like most of us there are better deals in town.

Vinci-Z: Glad you're happy! But I hope you're doing plenty of advertising for them, because word on the street in Orlando the past year is that Roger has had a hard time keeping his bays full.

Of course, we're all going to back where we spent our money so that we don't look like idiots. It's a free world. If you want to spend more for the same thing, be my guest *shrug*

IMO, LPE, MMS and to a smaller degree ARE are all over-rated. MTI seems to have the strongest track record out there...but they're not local. MTI's LS1 setup's are pushing 450rwhp on a stock shortblock w/ heads/cam/intake/headers & tuning. Can't imagine what it'd be with 9#'s of boost on top of that.

I'll be honest - Norris and I have had some words in the past regarding the components chosen for my car. But I choose to go back to him whenever I can because he's a down-to-earth hard-working guy who in hindsight has never led me wrong. And his shop is always packed with cars - and that's really the only thing not going for him. Meaning he merely needs more hands in the shop.

Just curious - what kind of warranty did Vinci give you on your supercharged 98Z?
