Good run with fellow LS1

I was sitting at a light on my way to eat, not really paying much attention to anything other than the food I was about to go crush. A red F-Body pulled up along side; not seeing any badges I figured it was a typical V6 and didn't think much more about it... til the light turned green and he got on the gas a bit. I heard that wonderful sbc 350 roar and saw the dual exhaust, ahh a sleeper at it's finest and he was ready to go!

I made my way up along side, checking out his ride. I went to do the 3 honks but he had already jumped on it. I hit the gas soon after but then got off realizing a chase is a race isn't quite worth it. So he slowed back down and we lined up again; this time I was ready for him to take the jump. He got about half a car ahead as I downshifted into 3rd at 55. The shift to 4th had me even with him and as I ran out 4th I had put his front end at my rear tires, where we left off for upcoming traffic. We caught another red up the road and he stopped along side to chat for a bit; turns out he had the exact same mods as me (which every lightly modded LS1 has of course ). Didn't ask him what year it was, but it appeared to be a '98-99 which might explain why I was pulling a tiny bit.

Either way it was one of the most fun races I've had to date. Racing one of your own is always a great time

Thanks. Local track has already closed... but I was planning to wait til next year anyways. I'm not going to run this car much, so I'm waiting for a couple more mods and then to see where I'm at. I want to get better with RWD first, not always having immediate traction is a weird feeling.
