Witnessed a Kill...

So im driving to my cousins house and right in front of me was a new Civic SI (it looked pretty stock, NO WING or Stickers, But it did have the Fart Can) He is sitting at a red light just revving the crap out of his car at a new body style Land Rover Range Rover (BMW Moter) Light turns green and this guy dumps its really hard front tires lit up, the guy in the Range just floors it, No tire spin or anything. Shockingly the Range was door to door to about 30 and then started pulling just a little bit. Now I looked at my speed-o and i was doing about 50mph just cruising behind and the range had a good 3 cars on the SI. I figured they had to be doing about 60-70mph. It sure as hell surprised me, I dont know if the SI guy couldent drive or if the Range was Modded. But that SI guy reved at the wrong SUV that day... WOW!!

Beaten by an SUV. My wife drives a V8 Explorer, maybe I should take that to the street.

I believe if I was driving a new Civic SI and got legitimately beat by a land rover I would sell my car.

The other day I saw a BMW X5 go against an Integra Type R. They were at a red light with the integra sitting there with its rpms up. The light turned green the both got a little wheel spin. By the end of first the X5 had a car on the teg and kept the lead. The funny thing was, to add insult to injury, the driver of the X5 had the windows down and was flipping off the driver of the teg the whole way. I was lmao.

Something was wrong there. SI's are faster than a range rover, unless the rover was modded.

lol, the guy in the ITR could'nt drive, I pulled a few X5's in my GSR, before I saw the light and bought my Z28.

Well, at first i thought the range was modded as well.. But the more i think about it. It had new car tags on it dating just a day before the race, So take it for what its worth.

My friend drives a 77 280z and he raced a SI at the Las Vegas Moter Speedway and he said at 60mph they were door to door and then it started to pull him. We have G-tech his 280z at 8.8 to 60mph over and over again.

So with too much wheel spin that SI can easly be in the 9's, wich im sure the Range is too. Either way, It was pretty funny to see.

Well, Like i said before my friend raced one at the track and was dead even to 60mph thats when it started pulling. It ran a 17 sec @83mph, my friends 77 280z ran a 17.8 @78mph that run. Remember this is Vegas and cars seem to run slower here. Stock LT1's turn in mid 14's every run. The Range had him to 60 but would have been pulled like crazy on the top end.

The last body style seems faster, This new one runs almost a half second off the old one.

High 15's huh? LOL

I have seen several SI's run at the moter speedway and the best i have seen was low 16's but it had fart can and chances were it was not stock. The guy my friend raced (New SI, wierd mini van looking hatchback) Got a perfect launch and still ran 17 flat.

Just another thing my cousin reminded me about, He raced a 99 SI (wich seem to be faster then the 03's??) He talked to the guy and he said it had intake & exahust my cousin has a bmw 328 and it was bone stock at the time. My cousin ran a 15.8 and beat him by about 10 cars.

So my guess would be mid to high 16's depending on driver.

Well, there by no means a "sports car" there almost 3,000 lbs with 160hp and 130 lb-ft. People think there fast because of the misconception of "rice" but in stock form there not very quick, It takes alot of money to make them fast. Beleive it or not there just barley beating stock Manual Neons at the speedway. Everyone will arguee that there faster then that. But until you see a stock SI run (make that several SI's) you cant get an idea of how quick (or slow) one is. Granted there are SI's out there that would hand some of us our Ass, But there have alot of money in them and we were talking about Stock Si's.

Talking SUV

I am a camaro owner and lover at heart but I did the same thing in my SUV......
We also own a 2001 Mercedes ML 320......
Yeah its the v-6 edition but if you have ever seen this engine it is dual ported heads with 2 spark plugs per cylinder......Mine was made in germany and believe it or not my SUV has a top speed of 159 mph......Take off is very good but top speed is unbelievable.....

I didnt believe it till I drove it off the lot.....
Thanx
Jim

Lightbulb it is true

check out the mercedes german website.......mine was built in germany, not in North america so it is ungoverned.......I have only had the vehicle up to120 mph before I slowed down in montana somewhere and that was at 3500- 4000 rpms.......Check out the specs on the site........It shows no redline on my gauge but I am unsure of what the redline really is......believe me it moves.....not for racing but for top end it is a dream......150 + mph is the top end stock from the german series built not the North american series......No nos and no turbo needed.......Have you ever really been in a real german mercedes and not one made for the U.S or canada.......You will see the difference......
