Thumbs down smoked by an EVO

well, i was goin on the slow lane of a pretty busy street, wanted the non vaccant lane, but there was an evo, i put my blinker on and he stopped to let me in... (very nice of him) i knew he wanted to race, i pushed it to the speed limit cause a spot ive seen cops chill in the bushes was coming up... so i didnt exceed the limit, and as soon as gets free, he starts passing, i was like wow i cant let this happen, i cant let a ricer beat me, so i decide by the time his tail lights are at my mirrors, to hit it (hes probably got a second on me) and he floors up this hill, and i let off then punch the gas again cause i donno weather i really wanted to race him, but when i originally hit the gas and he was at my mirrors, i was like wow this is a joke i cant keep up... so i let off and he cuts in front of me and makes a left turn... i donno if this was fair... i know the evos are fast but do u think its a fair race if hes already passing me pretty good and his tail lights are at my mirrors?

do u think thats a fair fight expecally since my opti is about to die lol?

well im hope i coulda taken him if i was sure there wernt any cops around and i did floor it

EVOs are supposed to be quicker than LT1s. if he had the jump on ya too u SHOULDNT be able to catch him so dont feel bad...but look on the bright side....at least u dont drive a car with a 2 foot spoiler that sounds like a weedwacker.

I dont consider an Evo a Ricer, and I dont think it sounds like a weedwacker either. In fact you cant even really hear the exhaust, esp. if it has an Intake, all you can hear is the Turbo and BOV.

My friend has a Evo with a Cone Filter and ECU and I love that thing. It handles like a dream, and is quick. Dont get me wrong I'd take an SS, Z28, etc over it anyday, but I still like it.

I can understand how you would think it's a "ricer", whether your kidding or not, but I'm sure, by the sound of it, you've gotten a ride in one or driven one. For $30,000 it really is a deal, esp. if you plan on Auto Crossing with it.

Sounds like a screwed up race to me by the way you describe flooring it, then letting off, then flooring it, then .....

Try again, and see what happens.

Oracle17, what would you consider a Saturn Vue Redline owner then? After all it does have a Honda motor and transmission in it... "Powered by Honda" on a so-called domestic, tehe.

And what's this talk about 10 years to catch up? A 1994 Supra would be more than enough competition for a 1994 F-body.

Sad to think the fastest current vehicles from Japan are 4-door sedans. Don't get me wrong, I'd get a 4-door over a coupe any day from a practicality standpoint, but still, your fastest car in the line-up should be a coupe/hatch!

You might want to get a few mods before you go trying an Evo. Especially from a stop. It's not rice BTW.
