LT1 Vs 85 GT Mustang
Was out just cruising along the normal strip..enjoying one of the last few days we had. An older firebird (89?) pulled up next to me and started playing around..well i had just sold my 89 formula that week and bought my TA so i knew this car was no challenge...as this cars messing around..up pulls the mustang to my left..i figure..hmm..i'll try that mustang...go from a 25mph roll im in 2nd gear..and hes right next to me..then i miss 3rd gear and he rips by..damnit! i pull up for a 2nd shot..2nd gear 25mph roll again...i just floor it at which point he does to...were side by side up to 3rd..i bang 3rd and start pulling steadily..by 4th gear..im at least 2 car lenghts ahead. Come to find out this was a 85 5.0 hard top manual..with heads and cam work. Definitly a fast running 85. I gave him props and said cars strong till i hit 3rd..he just nods his head..and we go our seperate ways. First actually race in my new TA.

Nice kills. While not much stock, the old 5.0s can be made pretty fast for cheap. Around where I live I'd say they are probably the most modded cars. I can take a large portion of 'em but you never know what they'll have in them like cams or a huge shot of nitrous.
