destroking is always an option if you want to spin to like 9-10k rpms
also, since you already have alum. d/s, i'm not sure how you can make it rev faster

Tuning!! You can get yourself a Hypertech programmer, or Go to a shop that has LS1-Edit and have them tune it for you.

Why do you want it to rev higher and faster?
If you want it to increase RPM quicker in the 1/4, get a set of steeper gears.
If you just want your engine to rev high, go buy a Vibe/Matrix, those things have a hellaciouis redline.

Buy a motorcycle.
J/KIN
Titanium Retainers, Good Valvesprings, Hardened Pushrods, Big Cam, and tuning. Anything past ~6600 isn't going to run for 200k miles, so don't expect it to, but it should last a while. I wouldn't expect anymore than a few passes at anything over 7000 unless you are extremely lucky. I'm going to be keeping mine right at 6600, because its a daily driver, and I need it to last a few years.
If you want to do it right, you'll be spending several thousand. Get a shorter stroke forged crank, or forged stock stroke will rev just fine too setup correctly(cha-ching $$$), good forged rods with good rod bolts, good bearings, and lightweight forged pistons. There is also alot of other machine work(oil paths, and cryogenics that can be done to help assure that the parts will live at high rpms. If you want anything past 7000, I'd go with a Solid Roller because no Hydraulic cam is going to spin to 7500 and be very drivable.. P.S. Several sponsers sell shortblocks already assembled to stand high rpms with either stock or shorter strokes.
Intake and exhaust restrictions also cause the motor to rev slower. A good set of headers and a good lid will help liven it up a tad as far as quickness of revving. And for the road, 4.10's make my gears come really fast, and it'll stay in its powerband after shifts.. Excellent mod, if you have the traction to back it up.

DAMN Distortion! Thats a mean ass cam you got in there!...I see you are smart and got the gears and rear to go with it.
I had no idea there were even streetable cams like that!
So how are you liking the powerband. Is it a bitch in stop-and-go traffic? Does first run out of gear really fast?

The power band is awesome. In stop and go the cam is like stock so as long as you get good tuning. However, the clutch is a different story on/off.. hehe. The cam pulls hard from like 3500-6800 shift points. I went ahead and got arp rod bolts, and now I feel safe that the cam will rev to 6800-7000 without any troubles. The car really makes more power all the way through the band than stock.. even more low end. However, when I had my 224/224 cam, I get the feeling from like 2000 below, it might have made a little more power, but the difference from 2000+ is uncanny.
Peace,
Josh
