Damon,
Here goes the story. First and foremost, I didn't expect to win nor did I even expect to keep up ---- the best of curiousity got me I guess?

Ok here goes.

Driving down the road approx 20-30 mph and we both hit it. I immediately put a few cars on the TT Vette because he was spinning violently and I shut it down approx 90mph because the vette wasn't gaining.

Just some stats for you based on my comment of "IF you didn't spin so much I would have lost"...... that Vette is putting 700+ rwhp to the ground. That was why I made that comment and I think that's a "fair" statement to be honest. The guy driving the Vette is a friend of mine and I didn't want to come off like I owned it and my Mustang is high and mighty (because it certainly isn't). I know full well that if he had a good sticky tire like I had (I run skinnies with Nittos on the street), he would have smoked me. His car has run 10's at the track already on street tires and that was going in and out of the throttle due to severe tire spin.

Do I think that was a "lame" statement? NO. Again, I would certainly hope that a car pushing that much horsepower will destroy my little Mustang. Am I arrogent enough to come online and say that I "beat a TT Lingenfelter" without a caveat? NO.

It was all in good fun and between friends and that's all.

I guess the morale to this story is: Anything can and will happen on the street. In this case, I had sticky tires and he didn't which was the factor.

Here are some #'s you're looking for:

My car made a whopping 343rwhp/336rwtq with only 6psi of boost. I'm now running approx 10psi of boost.

The vette as I said I believe from what I heard is pushing in excess of 700rwhp.

Cheers.

Exactly my point.

BlackHatch,
Like me now, Bill the owner very very seldom does stuff like this on the street. It was a freak thing which I'm sure you understand ---- too much to risk.

BlackHatch,

What was your 1/8 mile time for your Busa on the 9.80 run? I have a lower, strapped, remapped, and slip on exhaust 02 GSXR 1000. I was just wondering what you were running in the 1/8. And trust me their are some cars around my area that run 8.90s-9.40s at 140+ that drive on the street and run the times with DOT approved ET Streets. I know a guy with a 383 in a new TA that runs alot of gas and run 5.70s through the 1/8. He drove the car to the track with the ac on.

Couldn't really tell you. My buddy logged those times. I weight about 280-290 suited so my times are not so impressive as his at 175 suited. Sucks being tall and heavy.

Please preface all uneducated posts properly first.

1. There are different levels of the Ligenfelter TT combo
2. I have personally seen video of a guy that I know on a busa (stock) pulling a 650rwhp TT vette up to about 165 mph when the race was shut down.
3. Several factors influence the outcome of the race....rider, driver, traction, starting speed, etc.
4. Do you even know what is done to my busa and why would you assume that the numbers and modifications in my signature are current....?

Eitherway, I think your blanket comment is a little out of left field.

Maybe you should preface street tires with "m/t et 'street' tires" so people don't think ANY car is pulling 9's with off-the-shelf comp t/a's.
