Running a Guy I work with (funny)
ok here is the deal ...
I work with a guy who has a 93 LX 347 ci trickflow R heads/cam Nitrous Works 175 hp plate. he has ran a best of 7.06.
I have a 95 TA stock bottomend with ported LT1 heads and 224/230 cam with a NX 150 shot. best I ran was a 7.13.
So here is the deal back when I was running 7.50's he wouldn't race me, said it wasnt worth his time (at the track). I will most likely smoke him on the tree. (my .5XX to his 7XX)
Know he wants to put more juice on it to out run me (250 shot) I think it is because we made him so mad
So here is my question should I bump up to a 175 shot this will be a one pass deal. it will be a heads up race but the fastest time won't mean someone was the winner if one of us redlight we loose etc..etc..
what do you think the odds are of me putting it on him? I have ran my mouth for a long time and dont want to really lose this race but if I do oh well.

Sean, here is a little info for ya. Somebody that we know (you know who) was at Kuhn's shop yesterday and while he was there Adam called. He told him about the race and they are supposed to "fine tune" the N2O setup this week. He has something big planned and I don't think you will like it I really don't think someone wants you to win. I will be there with the camcorder to get it all though Be careful on the 175 shot, I would really like to get the Trans Am to Bristol next week.
BTW: Do we have enough time to get the 383 in before Bristol if you blow it?

The rules have changed to best 2 out of 3 .. He is going down I told him everything I plan on doing but he wants to be hush hush on his setup.. (as far as how big a shot) First he said once we start there is no poping the hood "I said sure". then he changed his mind... I will let you guys know some more detail L8R I dont have time right now.

Don't be scared If you have a good set-up go with a 200 shot. I have almost 2 bottles threw it with a 200-shot and one crazy run with a 250 shot. Warning the 250 shot was only four 10 seconds and then was it back down to 200 for safty reasons and yes this is on an internal stock lt1

I have never had it on a dyno sorroy I will probally get on one at Bristol on the 17th.. If I dont mess it up before then.
I dont think the stock bottem end will like a 200 shot Plus the trans is just a stock rebuild mostly. all I want to run is 6.90's in the 8th and 10's in the 1/4 then it will be time for the 383 (no I wont have time to put it in before bristol is something goes bad)
Pray for me that I dont blow something up!
Here is the advantages the LX has on me
1 347 strocker
2 trickflow heads "R"
3 edelbrock intake "FI"
4 C4 with trans break
5 3500 stall
6 355 gear
7 less weight
8 weld drag lights
9 his car only has 25k on it with probally less than 5k on the 347
the only advantge I have is
LT1

No havent got to run any good passes yet .. It does pretty well in 60ft to have no suspension mods at all other than lowering springs.. heads, trans brake and rear to come this winter
