Nice vids, nice races, thanks for sharing!

I was really surprised the see you put that much distance on those cars, especially the camaro. How many car lengths would the difference be from a 14.0 @ 99 mph car to a 12.6 @ 106 car ??? I would think around 6 lengths or so but those other cars weren't even in the pic at the end of the run!! Well the vette looked like it was making up ground but that was still impressive!

Nice truck!

The Vette was not making up ground. It just looks that way due to the angle of the video He trapped at 105.3mph and I trapped at 106.7 (I think)

As far as the distance goes.. Think of it this way..

1 seconds at 100mph = 147 feet per second.

So every 0.1 seconds is 14.7 feet

So I would be 14.7 feet ahead after every 0.1 seconds. So if I ran a 12.6 and the Camaro ran a 14.0 then I ran 1.4 seconds faster.

So if I ran 1.4 second fatser that means I was 205.8 feet ahead of him. If we say a car length is 10 feet then I was over 20 car lengths ahead.

In reality i was even further then that since I was traveling at 107mph and not 100mph. This is obviously not exact but gives you an idea. I hope I did the math right

You have the idea, but it's not that simple. When you are putting distance between you and the other cars, it's not all at high speed. Actually, very little of it is. It would be a very complicated calculation, but it would not be near what you say. Think of the race, very little of it is actually at 100 MPH and above. Most of it is at lower speeds. At the lower speeds, you are gaining less ft/sec

Anyways, nice kills

Yup of course its not as simple as I put it but it was just to put perspective on things.

If I cross the line 1.4 seconds ahead of him and we are both going at a constant speed of 100mph then I would be 206 feet ahead of him. Nothing is being held constant so yes it would be very complicated to get it exact.

Thanks for the kind owrds on the kills!

If you were both at a constant speed when you crossed the finish line, then it would be a much easier calculation. In any case, at those speeds, and a 1.4 sec difference, they would be WAY far back. That's all we need to know.

Nice Kills.

Good kills. 60ft wins races.

I had my best track kill against a lightning. I beat him by .15 and he was about 5ft off my back bumper.

Thanks for trying to clear that distance issue up.
The math would be pretty complicated to get exact so just forget about it.
Nice runs.
