More Power!!
I have a 99 v6 but all I have dont to it is replace the cat with an X pipe, flowmaster 80 series, k&n filter, and cut the fins off my stock lid. I am considering putting on Headers, a 180 or 160 thermostat, and either ram air or slp cold air induction. Would that be enough to run high 13s? If not what else can I do? Which is better slp cold air or ram air? If I did all the above and a supercharger would it be enough? Thanks

Major motor work, supercharger, and/or nitrous will get you in the 13s

Shortdog, where did u get your 160 thermostat? Thanks for the suggestion but nitrous, I dont think I wanna mess with that right now. After all, only babies suck on the bottle. On the supercharger, Id love to have it but 1) I dont have near enough money for one and 2) Everyone says wait for the ATI supercharger. Thank anyways

The mods you have done plus the CAI will not bring you near the 13s.

With your mods you're barely going to touch the 14's.

Maybe not,do you have an auto?A torque converter can knock off .3-.4 in the 1/4.Also there are quite a few bolt-on 3.8's that run mid-low 14's.Some head/cam guys are hitting 13's NA.Good luck.

just ignore stupid track times and enjoy the ease of driving an automatic that's feels good and having a sweet looking car with an 8 speaker stereo. seriously man get over running a 13 sec. 1/4, spend your money on an extended warrenty.

I ordered my stat from autozone for around 13 bucks. Without a fan switch, it does absolutely nothing though. You'll be surprised how many bigtimers and dragsters that use nitrous or in your words "suck on the bottle", BUT you get more props when you're running all motor.

If you have an automatic tranny, the torque converter determines at what RPM's the transmission engages (or something like that). So you are able to be in higher in your power band and therefore leave the line with more power to the wheels.Do a search and you can find a lot more info.I'm not knowledgable about TC's but I hopefully will be soon.I'm getting one myself in the next couple of months.Good luck. And enjoy the ride for what it is,you don't have to be the fastest guy on the block.Heck,I run low 13's and I still get smacked around by a ton of other car's at the track.Just have FUN!

Shortdog. I put a 160 stat in my car today, the fan never runs unless the a/c is on, and the temp only goes up to where the fans would normally turn on when the car is sitting still. while the car is moving, the needle is barely above the 160 mark and it made a big difference in my SOTP power. my .02
