Post EGR valve

just got my computer scanned and the code was 1406 - egr valve. autozone doesn't carry it and will have to order. it cost $100. could i just disconnect it or is that not a good idea. would i fail texas emissions without it?? also, would i have any problems if i disconnected it (engine running hot or lean)? and would the SES stay on with it disconnected?? any help is appreciated. thanks

Well the egr is for emissions so you probably would fail. Disconnecting the egr will cause an ses light. 100 for it isn't bad. Mine was like 140.

You cannot simply jusy disconnect it!

It isn't there only for emmissions, it also lowers combustion chamber temps.

If you disconnect it it will run rich too.
