Question engine running hot

I recently installed a 292 duration cam in my '78 camaro. It is a 350, 4sp. The motor was rebuilt with performance parts a few years ago but not bored or anything. I also installed an edelbrock scorpion manifold and new 750 4bbl carb. I origianlly had a 222 duration cam and now for some reason since the change the motor is running about 40-50 degrees hotter than it was before. It also seems like it happens only when I am on the highway, which dosen't make sense. I would think it would do it more when I was in town. I do have a 17" flex-a-lite fan with the stock radiador. I have changed the thermostat, flushed the radiator and added Water Wetter, and still the same result. Any thoughts of what to do next is very appreciated. Thanks for you help!

Greetings! Well a few things to look at. 1)One is to check your timing. I understand that if you run too much timing advance you can create heat but I'd get another opinion on that one.
2)Are your stock fan shrouds in place? IMO that is always good to have in place for proper cooling.
3)Is the thermostat opening early enough? I know it's weird but I had one stuck open once.
4)What shape is the rad in? Is it clean? Free of bugs and such?
5)Does the flex fan match the size of your old one?
Some how wonder if your cooling problem only happened since the cam change. You sure? Anyone know how timing affects heat generated by the engine?
