Post Anyone have a T56 in a second gen???

I have an 81 Trans-am with a sbc in it. It currently has a TH-350. I would like to install a T-56 from a 93-97 Camaro/firebird. Do I have to use the pedal assembly from a second gen or a fourth gen? Do I need a new crossmember or bellhousing? Also how much does a used tranny go for and what is the best place to get it from?

I had a T56 in an 86 Monte Carlo; I got rid of it, and I am in the process of putting it into a 70 Z28. You will need everything from the flywheel back
flywheel and clutch (have to do some research for yours, the 1-piece rear seal motors are a different bolt pattern on the crank)
complete slave/master cylinder assy (have to fab a plate for the firewall to put it at the correct angle)
In the Monte, I used pedals out of a 4th gen, I plan to try and adapt the pedals I have in the 70 now.
You'll need the trans, bellhousing, shifter, the yoke in my 200R4 was the same splines
You need the digital speedo, or TCI makes a box to drive the cable style speedo (that's what I am using), or Jags that Run does a conversion on your tailshaft to use a cable
New or modified crossmember (they make one for first gens, but I haven't seen one for 2nd)
modifications to trans tunnel (shifter is farther back
You can either run a pushbutton to energize the reverse solenoid, or remove the solenoid and plug the hole with a freeze plug (I plugged it)
Once I start building the stuff, I will be posting pics on my homepage, so feel free to check it out
