ceramic-coated headers
If anyone has put a set of aluminum heads on a SBC in a 74-81 Z28, could you help me with what type of headers, cerama-coated or regular, you used? Having trouble because of the D-shaped ports on the GMPP Fast Burn Heads.

I am running 1 3/4" Headmans on one car and 1 5/8" Dynomax on the other. Both are 81 Z's and both have Dart heads. I remember seeing that Headman makes headers for 70-81 Camaros that are for use with the D port heads. I will try and find the part # .

Brad,
I used the gaskets that came with them. Mr gasket and felpro make gaskets for them, but I haven't had to get any new ones yet.

As long as you have the correct gasket to seal the ports, the header doesn't know what shape the ports are.. the exhaust ports on those heads are so small, I would think that any header with a primary of 1-5/8" on up would fit them..the outside measurements of the gaskets are pretty much the same for standard bolt pattern headers...
