Internal construction of the T56

If I were able to get the CAGS to engage while in 3rd gear would it damage the solenoid? Would it lock the shifter in 3rd gear? Would it allow you to shift normally into 4th gear and not 2nd gear? That's the one I'm going for.

I forgot what gears the CAGS locked out on, lol. In the detent assembly I saw how it worked, it just sticks out a little rod forcing the shifter from 1st to 4th. If you got it to engage while it was in 3rd, then the rod would just hit the metal around the guide groove and it wouldnt do anything.

See the the groove in that plate inside the detent assembly? Thats the skip shift.

Nope won't hurt a thing Cags will actually activate in any gear if going slow enough and it enters the engagment parameters

You would not even know save the light on the dash.
