manual tranny

What manual tranny is good for 600 hp at the fly? I have heard the m22, any other opinions? I'm looking at performance and price. Thanks!

The T56 from the '94 and up F-bodys have 2.66:1 low gears and much higher rated torque capacity than the earlier transmissions. Should be adequate for 600rwhp, though don't expect OEM levels of longevity.

The options get more exotic and pricier if you need something more. There are various T56 modifications and then there's adapting an entirely different tranny. Can get pricey and involved.

Like Rich said the T56 can take a lot of abuse and upgrading to better parts in the end costs more than some think its worth..
