Will Comp lifters for '87-up block work on a 400 SB? Need help fast!!!
Hi guys. I have a set of 888-16 Endura X solid roller lifters I can get, CompCams, that I would like to use in a 406 buildup. I think they have taller bodies to clear a '87-up block. Will they work on a 400 SBC block. I would love to use them if I can, just need to know if they will work. I think they should 'cause the early block is shorter, these can work on both, BUT I am not sure. I need help fast! Thanks.

I thought only redro roller lifters would work in a non roller block? because I`m buliding a 383 and would love to go roller but I`m not paying 1200 when a flat tappet soild cam with lifters are $350

Well, I am building a 383! I got a Scat 9000 series 1-pc crank and Scat 6" I beam bushed rods. Gonna run some SRP forged pistons and a 150-200 shot of juice. My heads are Victor Juniors, and gonna use my solid roller cam! Should work well in my third gen!

A 383 uses a 350 block and a 400 crank...A 377 uses a 400 block and a 350 crank...which are you building??
And Don't reuse the short rods of the 400SBC, at least use the 5.7rods of a 350.

I was gonna build a 406, but still needed to find a good block. Then I got my Scat9000 crank and Scat 6" rods for x-mas, and I already have a good virgin 4 bolt 350 block. So gonna just build that with some good, forged pistons, and try to run Nitrous Works 75-200 adjustable shot!
