Post ROCK CHIP

Rats, I forgot this part. Right after I got done with the clay job I drove my car not even a mile away from home before I picked up a big rock chip on the top of the rear bumper. It's deep, should I try to get some paint and touch it up myself (I haven't had very good luck with that in the past) or should I just take it in and ask the body shop to do it for me? What is the best method to touch up those rock chips, anyway?

I generally use a toothpick and layer the paint until it's slightly above the surface, then either compound or buff it down smooth. I know KevinSS has an article or link all about chip repair, maybe he will post it...
