I believe all Auto's came with 2.73s and M6s came with 3.42s... but someone can chime in incase I'm incorrect.

3.23s were also "stock", but optional with A4s.

So do ALL M6's have 3:42's? Did any get 3:23's? Is there a way to tell what gears you have based on RPMs@speed?

I have a 95 Z and I think I have the 3.23's. How can I tell, I once heard something about having a 1st gear selection on the shifter. Oh yeah, I have an A4. Is it true that if I have the 1st gear selection, I have the 3.23's??

As long as your car is stock, then YES, if you can select 1st gear, your car has 3.23's. If you had an LS1 car though, that rule no longer applies (all autos can select 1st gear).
Go to www.f-body.org/gears to verify your gears.
