hurst quarterstick in my Z28?

I know that Hurst or any other company doesnt make a shifter for an A4 LT1 car. Unless theres something else out there... I wanted to try to rig up a 700R4 version of the quartestick to my 4L60E. Do you think it will work? Come on... It only selects the gears right?By the Way... I have a 1995 Z28.

yeah it will work. You'll have to get creative on making the shifter look good.

Re: hurst quarterstick in my Z28?

Pick up a B&M Pro Stick. You can purchase a gate plate for a 4 speed auto.
I was afraid to do this for years but recently installed one, its no big deal.
You will have to custom mount the shifter, you will lose the "step on brake to shift from park" crap and there is another cable that keeps the steering wheel from locking unless the car is in park, so without the cable hooked up the steering wheel WILL lock if the key is turned to the off position, even if your rolling down the highway. so keep it in mind. Wiring is not too bad. B&M has a backup light switch you can order seperately and it comes with a nuetral safety switch. For now I connected the nuetral safety wires together and left the backup lights unhooked, the other 2 wires in that bundle are for your remote hatch release. Car has to be in park or nuetral for the hatch release to work, I just use the key.
Honestly, mounting the shifter is the hardest part. Getting it to work with your stock console can be very tricky. I took the easy way out and chopped the middle out of my console, its a hack job and it looks like it too.

This is how i made my buddies console look. He had the shifter mounted, i just cleaned up the console and mounted the Transbrake button.
