Angry Who did I **** off in a previous life?

I just lost my job! Just got the call. The position I had was a new position for them, and they realized they weren't using me to my potential and I was becoming an errand boy for them...which I had realized too. They need a Superintendent (my position), and they need an errand boy, but they haven't had the time to sit down and figure out all the details of either position. And right now they can't justify paying an errand boy $30k a year with full benefits. So, once again, I'm jobless

Man I am really sorry. I know it doesnt mean much, but dont get too down because the economy will turn around, and things will get better. My buddy has been without a job for a long time and we got him one just lastt week doing machine work. What are you qualified to do? I am a mechanical engineer for a small scale gear manufacturing company, and I am around people in that line of work all the time. We do stuff for Lear, GM, Ford, and may more. If you are qualified to do anything, I would be more than happy to throw your name around a bit, see whats out there. I know its a long shot bud, but I will keep my eyes open. Enjoy your time off, you are sure to find work soon... and then its back to the grind!!!

Well, here's my resume... It hasn't been updated to show the last job, and it doesn't list any of my mechanical abilities as I was seeking a construction job. My real love is to be in a machine shop or somethine a litle more technical and get out of the construction stuff, but I have no formal education in those areas:

I lost my $65,000+ a year job in april of 1999 and haven't recovered since.

Oh... I've been throught the gammit of $9.00-$14.00 p.h. employment agencys and real jobs, but everything turns out to be freakin' NIGHT shift and lots of OT on weekends. Heck... I wanna race my car on weekends!

My background lies in automotive production supervision and 13 years of pounding spikes for the railroad, track foreman.

Mike, how far would you drive for a job? My mothers future husband owns his own masonary company, the thing is... its way the hell on the other side of the state by me. I have your resume now, and I will pass it around for ya. I have cousins that live in Grand Rapids, one owns his own building company, I dont talk to him much, but I will try to get in contact with him for you. I cant promise you anything, but I know how bad it sucks to be without a job so I will do my best. Untill next time... good luck and enjoy the vacation.
