Trade? my ls1 front end for your LT1 front end
Trade? my ls1 front end for your LT1 front end
Ive seen lots of people do the ls1 front end conversion, have never seen anyone do it the other way. If anyone has please direct me to the post so i can see what i need. I just bought a really clean 99 Z28 with 47k but I really like the front end on the LT1 cars better. If anyone that wants to trade front ends let me know. From what I understand its not too much work. Fenders, hood, light brackets, etc. My new car is black, so finding a black car would be key, but not nec. a deal breaker. Would really like to find someone with a SS hood.
thanks,
jason

the only hang up with the callaway or moroso or k&n style of cold air intake is that there is a control box for what looks like maybe the abs or asr that is right where the intake would need to go. Im gonna do it. I just need a donor car.
If somebody else is wanting to do this, the PERFECT low mileage donor car is on ebay right now! The perfect amount of damage to do the conversion and get the car for a STEAL!

17,000 miles! Wish I had the money and space to do it myself. All you need is fenders, hood, front bumper, and headlight mounting hardware (and lights). You don't even need new Z28 emblems. Somebody pick this baby up and do the first front end conversion to LT1 bumper anybody has ever done!

As probably half of you know, I look at Camaros on ebay every other day, so I see just about everything. I haven't seen a gently wrecked one with this few miles since the early 2000s! This car is going to be a STEAL. The only way it'd be better is if it was black (so you wouldn't have to repaint the engine bay if you wanted the car yellow, blue, or something other than maroon) and manual if you prefer that.
I hope somebody we know gets this car. Wish I could get it myself, but I have a few other 4th gen dream cars I want before I would want to make an '02 look like a '97. This is such a better idea than dropping an LS1 into an LT1 car. Just about everything was improved over the years, from the weather stripping, to even the automatic transmission in 2001 (they were upgraded to handle a bit more torque). This has the possibility of being a super cool project car! It even has leather!

Good debate here, I personally like the front end of the 93-97 best, but you get the LS1 with the 98-02. I currently own a 95Z28, my Camaro before this one was a 98Z28, so I've had the pleasure of owning the two different models. I guess the best thing to do is have one of each
