high beams won't work, questions??

Ok I did a search on here and couldn't find what I was looking for. My high beams will barely come on. I can keep fiddling with them and I can eventually get them to come on. It usually takes as much effort to get them back on low beams. Do you think I need to replace the dimmer switch or just adjust the rod? If I need to adjust the rod how do you do it?

I think there is a slight adjustment for the dimmer switch that can be made by moving the switch upwards. Do not think there is one for the actual rod other than bending it.

lights

does you steering wheel rock back and forth (from left to right). If so, then the switch schould work fine when the wheel is tugged to the left. Sounds cheesy, but it happened to me.There must be a bushing in the column that goes bad and gives it just enough play to mess up the dimmer.
