L99-LS3 what to do if you had a do over
I want a Camaro. Cyber Gray, 1SS, black stripes. That I know. What I'm still contemplating is auto or 6 speed.
Would have been nice if GM had just one engine for both transmissions but not so.
The auto has the limiting cam and H.P., put an aftermarket exhaust on and you get the 4 cylinder drone. Got to believe there is some power loss built in by it being a everyman transmission.
The manual offers the H.P. gain of the Corvette, and more agressive cam, but for daily driving in traffic, not as comfortable.
If you had a do over, would you stay the same or convert ?
Tell me why.
Thanks.

i love the manual. i wouldnt have changed anything when placing my order. especially if you plan to mod the motor then do the manual. if you are using this as a every day car, just get auto and throw a blower on it.

In July I encapsulated my thoughts on it here...
Quote:
Some thoughts on the choosing the A6 over the M6
A lot of you may know that I was struggling with the decision to go with the automatic or manual in my 2010 Camaro. After a long decision, I eventually chose the A6 at the last minute. Since I have taken delivery, I have been asked quite a few times and if I like it and if I regret getting it. Now that I have nearly 1,000 miles on my 2010 Camaro, I think I can answer that question.

no regrets here, the auto is an awsome trans, with a stall and some tuning it is very fun to drive and shifts the gears very quick and firm

After going to the track I wish I had an auto, but then driving it on the street I love my manual. I just need more practice. I do wish I would have gotten polished rims and maybe inferno interior.

I bought the perfect car...black SS stick with inferno, sunroof and polished rims....2SS...I thought about it for 2 years...I knew if I bought yellow/orange/funky blue etc...I would wake up one day and go what have I done?? On the transmission choice? is there any other choice but 3 pedals and a shifter?? nah...LS3 with stick all the way as long as my left leg still works...more involving ...more snap...sexier...
