Have you seen the HEADLIGHTS?

Just got home from "Industry Day" at the auto show and had to post something I noticed about the Camaro Convertible......THE HEADLIGHTS ARE DIFFERENT!!! Looking closely at it, it looks like they put a lens over LED lights.....but since the convertible is a new car, wouldn't it be cheaper to put HIDs in, instead of LEDs? Is it possible the 'vert has HIDs? And if those are LEDs, why cover them with a lens? Opinions?

I think it was stated that the headlights have to be a single bulb and not a multi-bulb set up. I could be wrong. Maybe what you're seeing is a more production ready version of the headlights.

I thought it was written (somewhere in some official release) that the convertible has different headlights from the coupe.

I remember it stating they had the 'halo' effect, but can't remember exactly what else it said.

The headlights on the convertible are fine with me. As long as the keep the 'halo' effect I'll be happy.

I love those halo/angel eye lights. I just hope we don't start seeing people swap those out for all kinds of weird colors like red and stuff like I've seen on some ugly BMW's.

I'm begining to wonder about Camaro.

Independent rear suspension. Supposedly an interior that rasies the level of quality of materials, expensive HID headlights...... all at a price "just a few hundred more than the Mustang"???!

If the car actually bases just over the price of a new Mustang (about 20K), I suspect GM will make up the costs of the car line on both the top and the mid range models, which would be priced considerbly more than the Mustang.

I'm very intrested in seeing how all this plays out.

I don't think I've ever seen the halo's changed in BMW's. Sounds interesting to me.

If given the option/possibility I'd definitely have the halo altered to a color that suits me (:::coughcough::urple:::coughcough::.

I've never seen a Ricer with halo headlights... BMW, yes, Ricer, no.

IMO the halo's give it a higher end look. The halo's also give it a decidedly 'bird of prey' appearance.

Losing the halo's would take away from the agressive, hawklike look of the frontend.

I agree - the Halo lights are definitely an upscale looking item. Except of course when this happens:

If they lose the halos, I'll be pissed. I hope they if HIDs don't come standard they're at least an option. I'm glad I added them to my 91.

Think it will be an option on the car..regular lights on V6's and the halo HID on the upper models..
