Question Powdercoating near Chicago?

I'm interested in getting my LT1 intake powdercoated red. Shipping it to BMR and back is going to be pretty pricey... I'd rather put that kind of money into something that adds power. Does anyone know of chicago-area places that do it?

I live in Sandwich, and I know of a couple places in Yorkville. I had one shop do some parts for a motorcycle a couple years ago, and they did a great job. Let me know if you want the info.

I have never done rims. I have done several intakes, some valve covers, and lots of small brakets. The colors at work are very limited, red, white, blue, yellow(cat yellow),gloss black, semi gloss black, and red. I dont even work on the powder coating line. I have seen several steel wheels done and they look great. The problem is with aluminum wheels is that you will want the lip to still be aluminum correct. I believe alot of places turn the lip to give it nice edge. When you mask with powder coat you end up with a very distinct edge because powder coat usually goes on thicker than regular paint. I think im like 4 hours from you anyway so its probly not worth it for you. I was gonna order some clearcoat powder and some gun metal gray from eastwood or some place and do my own wheels. Im gonna practice on some jy wheels first.

Oh ya im like 25 miles from Bloomington

Yep, I'm a member. I'm friends with Anthony (1LEThumper) and Louis (G2 LS1). They're great guys. But I'm the first person in my family to get into the performance side of cars (my dad worked on his a lot back in the day, but only repairs). Talking with these guys about cars for 10 minutes will make your head spin.
