how to remove the giant a/c box from 93 z28?

There's a giant box with a bunch of plastic that attached to the firewall for the a/c on the passenger side. I originally just figured that there was no way of removing that since its massive and attaches to the firewall and may have something to do with the air blower in the car. Then I saw a block off plate for it on a website.. Is there a writeup somewhere on how to get rid of this thing? Also will removing this thing mean I no longer will have heat?

if you remove it all (inside and out)you will no longer have heat, correct. you COuLD make a smaller box out of fiberglass or such that you could bolt in its place. (friend made one for his chevelle, i bought it and installed it on my gto after he made a pure race car out of it).I was thinking of ramoving mine completly in the camaro since I don't drive it winter and ac compressor and heater core took a dump anyway. I believe also if you want to keep heat some people have had good success using a "street rod" heater. The Flex a lite Mojave heater I think is available from Summit and Jegs very compact at 10 1/8 x 9 x 5.

get an ac delete box maybe? that will take care of the ac parts and still allow you to have the heat on the inside of the car. you can pick them up off ebay if you want. there area few places that make them as well. There really is not much different on the inside parts really. other than the controls of course. and how it actuates the doors. But overall there was no reason they could not have all been the same really.

I believe the 1LE camaros do not have A/C. What do they have hanging off their firewall?

I did a ebay search for "a/c delete box" and got nothing. Then I did a google search and saw mentions of buying a A/C delete box off ebay on some third gen camaro forums.. Can u hook it up with a link for one of these?
