Does rubbing alcohol take off paint?
I want to get some tree sap off the car and I've found rubbing alcohol to be the best thing to use but don't want to take any clear coat off.
My car has been buffed many times so I want to be very careful to not remove any paint at all.
Is rubbing alcohol 100% paint safe?

Short answer: No... Arf!
However, (that's a big but), test anything you plan to use on your car finish on an area that can't be seen easily... like under the carpet in the trunk, hinge area of the door jamb, you get the idea...

Wow, I need to read my post, and the question asked more carefully... Arf!
Alcohol will take off wax, that is about all the harm it will do...
Thanks for noting my error and correcting it...

Just use Mothers Clay Bar kit. It comes with a clay bar, cleaner wax and a bottle or spray detailer for lubing the clay bar. It'll make your paint feel super smooth!!!
