LT1 383 stroker for sale...
Hi guys, I am considering selling the 383 in my 1992 vette.
Here is the info:
1992 4 bolt main LT1 (original in the vette)
Decked, squared, align honed, and bored .030 over
SCAT cast crank
Clevite main bearings
Eagle 4340 forged H-beam rods
Ross forged pistons (10:1)
Final compression is about 11:1
LT4 hotcam and valve springs, w/ titantium retainers
Hardened comp cams pushrods
New GM lifters
Crane full roller rockers
Jones competition cylinder heads, ported and polished
2.00/1.54 valves
Oil return passages are ported to avoid filling the heads with oil
Extrude honed and port matched LT1 intake
Top ring is gapped an extra .005 for heat expansion due to N20, 2nd ring is gapped .003 extra
750 CFM BBK throttle body
30 lb SVO injectors
Tuned with tuner cat
Also has the zero insertion force/piggy back style chip socket, so changing chips is a breeze
The engine was designed with a 250 shot in mind, so that's the power level all the components are set-up to handle. I've ran about 7 lbs (7 lbs, not 7 bottles) of N20 through the engine in 100 shot form. Only made about 5 passes with it, and 2 or 3 freeway rolls.
The car dyno'd 370 RWHP NA through the stock cats with shorty headers. That's about 425 HP at the motor considering 15% loss through the drivetrain. The engine is considerably under cammed, and would benefit a TON from longtubes. I have a bigger cam for it, I just haven't gotten around to installing it yet. Its a custom grind selected by a very expensive computer program:
.565/.576
232/242
on a 114
The car went 12.600 at 110.55 4200 ft (NA), with a DA of 7,100 ft. Corrected for actual elevation (not the DA) that corrects to a high 11 at about 116. I would correct it for the DA, but I can't find a correction tabel that goes that high. With the cam installed and some longtubes, the engine should make right around 480 FWHP, maybe a tad more. Pretty impressive for something that my wife can drive all the time in the summer with the AC on and not worry about it stalling at lights or anything. The whole combo has about 7k on it right now.
What do you guys think it's worth? I've heard all the way from $2500 to $8000. First reasonable offer takes it.
I am located in Northern UT, and would be willing to deliver within a reasonable distance. Contact me if you are interestred.
