Eagle shortblock 383(used), 30lb svo injectors.....PICS
Purchased this car not knowing this motor was in it. I had golen build me a shortblock, pulled this motor out and its COMPLETELY built. It has H-beam rods, SRP pistons w/ code 40D, and a 4340 forged crank, 4-bolt splayed. I believe its a 383 also b/c it has clearencing on the block for the rods. EXACTLY the same as my golen motor. The reason I had golen build me a motor was because I was driving down the street and my pressure went to 0, I thought i spun a bearing b/c i recently had put on an LE2 package. When i pulled the pan on dissassembly I found that the oil pickup had fallen off. Now, this motor has made absolutely 0 noise when the pressure dropped and I had it towed home. I would imagine it would be safe to put back in, but Im *advising* you to atleast put new cam/rod bearings. Chad from golen told me it would cost $500 to completely rebuild it w/ new bearings, rings, freeze plugs, etc. A new Golen 383 will cost just about 4k with shipping(this motor has the SAME parts). Whoever purchases this I would suggest letting someone you know rebuild it, or Golen racing, you can see from my sig that his motors hold up and make power. Asking $1500, this includes full short block, still assembled, stock pan also (have canton on new motor). These are old pics, from when I was doing the LE2 package, the motor is on a stand at my shop. If any other pics are wanted I will have to go there and take them.
SVO 30lb injectors, bought them for the original LE2 setup I had on the car. When I had the 383 built I ordered 42# because Im going bigger on the cam and adding a dry shot. Had them re o-ringed and flow tested by Everglades Diesel in Ft. Lauderdale. Cost $150 to have them done, only asking for my $150 back. Well i asked my brother to take the pics for me, b/c im studying for midterms. He took pics, but missed some of the things i asked him for, he didnt know you can turn the crank, so he didnt get the 4340 stamping. And he didnt take pics of the piston #, i will get those pics tommarow, but here are some he took.

I tried looking up the compression ratio for these pistons, but couldnt find them. Now, my NEW motor has 40DS stamped into the pistons, and its got 11-1. These are not dished as you can see from some of the pics, i would guess around the same 10.5-11. Im guess that a machine shop could find the cr for you, but im not sure.
