From texas might be moving to wa

Might be moving up there due to a job as a youth pastor. I've done some research about the area, and there seems to be a few car guys up there so i'm pumped about that. Down here in Texas almost everyone is into cars, myself included. So finding out there are some up north is good for the moral.

The question i had was, I am planning on buying a dd in the near future. I was wanting to get a ls1 t56 t/a. and leaving it basically stock to drive daily. In the washington area is this a possiblity? I know i'm going to see a lot more snow and ice than i'm used to. Down here we just had 10 inches of snow and i was awakened to the fact that f-bodies might not be the best choice.

Is a 4x4 a must up there? or is a ls1 t56 drivable on most days?

LS1 T56 is definately drivable on MOST days. I have daily driven my camaro in this area for the past 5+ yrs. People will call you crazy, but with a good set of snow tires, my vote is yes.

However, if you're commuting a lengthy distance, or require to cross the pass (snoqualmie; to get to Seattle/Tacoma area) every once in a while...my vote is no. You will regret not getting a more capable vehicle.

Just my .02.

Depends on where you live at, Up in the mountains Yes a truck is going to get you where you are going, if you are living in the low lands like most of us do, your car will get you most places, exept those times in the winter when we do have snow on the ground or ice.

So where you looking at moving to?

Yakima is a pretty good size CITY, They may not have Waffle houses but they do have IHOP

it its a pretty good place for Wine & Cherrys, peaches & what have you.

it is country living at its finest, Our camaro club goes over there a couple diff times a year.

But living there you will need a truck or soemthing with all wheel drive since it does snow there alot during the winter months. But during the summer months is hot, almost always in the 100+ degrees.

^ What she said

A fast RWD car won't be very useful to you in the winter.

P.S. - Washington does have Dairy Queen.
