Hi everyone, I just bought a 1979 black Z28, I had over 40 gen 2 Camaro's on my list from all over the US. Actually only looked a few in person, traveled way too far to be so disappointed. Then this 1 popped up on CL and it was only 20 min.away! go figure? Good price too! The guy I bought it from knew nothing about the car, except the battery was dead. He said the engine was modified by the owner before him. didn't know what he did? It has old rusty headers, dull and stained looking high-rise, rusty chrome valve covers and has a after market 4 bbl Rochester carb, looks ok, the heads are black and the engine is blue, so I am thinking it might have had new heads put on or redone at some point, all very dirty,oily and wires and hoses everywhere, it has a new pretty blue timing cover on it, and it does idle like it has a mild performance cam installed, it has 2 small cats, those g2g, str8 pipes and no mufflers, it was pretty loud. The RS header was taped up by the reducer, the header pipe is cracked somewhere,as it wiggled alot, It had like 20" chrome extensions, that stuck out a half of foot behind the bumper, but not for long, it's a 3 speed auto trans, got power windows and locks, all not working, eww! Seems to be in pretty solid shape otherwise! But looks like I have lots of work to do! But I luv it!. It did drive home real nice,firm ride, str8 down the road! T-tops off, warm and sunny day, I stepped on it a bit when I got away from town the tires broke loose easily at not even 1/4 throttle and, got up and went pretty good, until i backed off about 1/2 throttle, a beautiful day it was!
