Will a non-functioning gas gauge (warning light) fail inspection?

My '05 Trailblazer has a bad gas gauge. From what I understand the NHTSA is aware, but there was never a TSB or recall for it, it is a pricy fix, and I just make sure to fill the tank and reset the odometer each time I get gas. I have read about it on a few 'blazer-related sites, but was not sure what would happen in MA. Does the light trip the computer throwing a code and causing a fail? Will the light trigger the inspection tech to fail for observing the light? Thoughts?

It has been a few years since I did inspections but I assume it does not trip the check engine light right? Really shouldn't affect the inspection but I can't say 100%
