Minimum tire tread depth to pass MA inspection?

Anyone know the minimum tread depth considered passible for inspection in MA? It's that time of the year again for the daily driver. Tried searching on MA RMV website and couldn't find anything specific other than "tires".

There should be a bump in the treads somewhere on the tire (going across the width of the tire usually). If the tire wears down to the bump, I think thats when it's illegal.

that bump is where they recommend tire replacement (2/32) min tread depth for mass is 4/32 if you are close to 4/32 but not quite there some garages will fail you they look for the lowest spot to check
