how bad is NOS really for the motor?
will it make the motor not last as long?
how much ware and tare does it put on a motor ?
I have a bone stock 94 Z28 LT1 M6 and am doing the intake and full exhaust, looking for a little more boost when needed, just want to know how bad NOs really is on a motor.

It won't hurt your engine as long as you don't try to run a huge shot of nitrous and make sure that you have the other safety parts.

I have been runing a 150 wet shot for years now with no problems.

P.S. NOS is a brand of nitrous systems.

my stock LT1 with bolt on's ran 12.36@109 without nitrous,and 11.02@124 with nitrous (175 shot).
Car had no problems,ran a 150 shot for 2 years before i jumped to the 175.
Pulled the engine apart and there was NO damage inside.

NOW,YES nitrous can blow the engine up if you get greedy/careless. WHEN used properly and with the CORRECT SAFETY equipment,it can provide years of fun and trouble free running.

Nope, just don't get greedy with it and push more then your ringlands can take or your fuel pump can supply.

I haven't gone to the track, yet. But with the G-tech pro, I was running high 13's N/A and around 13.0 to 12.8 on the nitrous.

That was before I had gears, SFC, LCA, torque arm, stock manifolds, and on street tires.

All that is a thing of the past now, I just started a heads and cam swap today. I will be running the CC305, ported and coated heads, and FLP long tube headers.

mine took a dump, but my vacume line came off the fpr and it ran real lean!! but i put a hurtin on a Z06 in the process

What kind of safety equipment are you guys using? I have a clutch switch and a fuel pressure switch.

I've heard of ZEX kit's doing that quite often... I won't even touch one now because I know of 2 people in my home town where that vacuum line has come off, and both of them melted a piston....

Straight up, Nitrous doesn't hurt a motor..... It's the horsepower, and extra torque that it causes the motor to produce that hurts the motor.....(but this isn't a bad thing, because horsepower is good..) An engine making 800hp with a blower, and an engine making 800hp with nitrous will see the same wear and tear factor..

The only time that engine failure is a direct result of nitrous is when not enough fuel is introduced into the mix..... But this is true of supercharged cars, turbo cars, and even NA cars.... If your mix is lean on any of the above setups, detonation will occur, and pistons and rings will suffer.

As long as you have enough fuel to go with the n2o noting bad will happen WEll it might if your enigne cant handle a buttload of hp

So which can feed that fuel better Wet or Dry kits? So as not to harm the inner workings of my LT1.

I'm a bigger fan of wet kits, just because you have an extra solenoid supplying the fuel, and you don't have to worry about the limitations of the stock injectors... I'm pretty sure that you can safely run 100-125 shot by tapping in to the fuel test port (schrader valve) on an Lt1, or LS1... That makes it super easy to install.. I've seen many Ls1, and Lt1 guys run that much power this way, and I've only seen one mess up... (burnt a valve with a 200 shot on a stock LS6 in a Z06), but like I said 100-125 shot should be fine.

Hey guys,
So say my Z28 is all stock but it has 125,xxx that are mostly all highway and it was lady driven, i had the intake manifold off and it was like perfect. but i am gunna do full exhaust, lpe cai, and couple other things, but i wanna do like a 100shot, would my motor handle it, if not what may happen?
