pulling timing from a pcmforless NA tune

i have an MSD6AL with a timing retard ****, and I was wondering how much timing should i pull from my pcmforless NA tune, right now i'm pulling about 7* to be on the safe side, but that might be too much, i just dont want to blow it up... I have the 100 shot in not but plan to use the 150 w/ race gas at the track. i guess a clearer question would be how much does pcmforless advance the timing on a LT w/ a 306, then I could work it out from there.

Every combo is a little different. I would pull the plugs and look at them right after a pass. If you do some research on yellowbullet they have some pictures on reading spark plugs. But the amount of timing you need to pull will depend on your whole combo.

Pull one of the plugs. If you can see a mark on the ground strap it should be betwwen the tip and the bend. If its at the bend or closer to the threads its got to much timing. You also want the plug burning clean if there is a dark fuel ring on the porceling it is rich. You will have to do some searches on reading plugs. There is much to learn.

The other option since your not spraying much is at the track make a pass. Then add one degree timng back in if the mph picks up it wanted the timng. If the mph stays the same pull the timing back out.

I would also say your safe with 93 octane and the 150 shot
